You've heard about the power of linking your site to others and other people to yours. If you want a decent search engine placement you need to have many websites pointing to your site. One of the easiest ways of doing this is joining a link exchange. I'm not here to refer you to any of these sites, there is nothing in it for me, but I will let you know the ones I use and hopefully you find them useful.

Now I have others, but quite frankly I don't use them all because it takes work to check out their sites, decide which ones you want to trade with, and add them to your website. I almost exclusively use LinkMarket and LinkAlizer. They both provide plenty of opportunities to trade, and have a large installed base to choose from.
